New Videos of Marius Online!

Dear Family & Friends of Marius,

We hope this update finds all of you peaceful and content.

Marius continues to make great progress on all fronts. He is learning to use his new thumb, his foot is healing well, and he seems to be enjoying all the typical 10 year old boy activities. This past month he even participated in his first pinewood derby!

We've posted a number of new pictures online as well as a few videos to give you some insight into his activities and his always-cheerful personality. You can see them all at www.teammarius.org.

Thumbs Up for Marius!

We are so excited to let all of you know about Marius’ latest surgery. We arrived at Shriners on the 17th of February to have his right toe transferred to his right thumb – a very complex and difficult surgery. Our sweet Marius did amazingly well!

11/03/08 - Stitches are Out!

Hi Team!

I stayed at the Ronald McDonald house last night. At 7:00 this morning Ionut called and said Marius wanted to talk to me. He got on the phone and said, "My eyes is finished and I see really good!" I just wanted to cry I was so happy. This is why he's here! I told him I would be right over, and when I got there Ionut had just finished bathing him and Marius is just running around the room, SO excited! I am just so elated right now. His eyes really look incredible, just beautiful.

I'm attaching a couple of pics. (see TeamMarius.org)

Love you all,
Lynne

First Surgery Complete and Successful

Just a quick note to let you know that Maruis' first surgery took place as scheduled on the 29th. It lasted about 8 hours but the doctors were very pleased with the progress they made. They were able to work on his upper and lower eyelids and on his hands.

He is in a lot of pain now, but doing well. His wonderful big brother Ionut is with him as are Kristin and Lynne and members of the Romanian community in Southern California.

There are pictures posted at www.teammarius.org.

Trip to San Diego!

Note: Marius' first operation was postponed from the 22nd to 29th. He and Ionut traveled to San Diego last week and had a great time with Lynne and her family. Here is her report. Also, please go to www.teammarius.org to see pictures from their great adventure.

Greetings to all from the Southern California arm of Team Marius! I just wanted to give a little report on the wonderful time we had with Marius and Ionut while they visited us Woodward/Ludlows here in San Diego.

9/10/08 Update From Team Marius

News from us here at Team Marius! It's been a busy month! We returned from some sight seeing adventures in Arizona and Utah and did some fun interviews as well as Thank You receptions while we were there. The media in Utah, where the girls go to school, has been so wonderful and has helped in our efforts to raise funds and to tell Marius' story.

Marius on the Front Page of the Salt Lake Tribune!

Jennifer Sanchez of the Salt Lake Tribune spent some time with Marius and the others while in Utah and wrote a very nice article that was published today. If you get a chance to pick up the Tribune it is on the front page! If you don't, you can read the article online here:
